Traveling to Innovation Quarter
The Innovation Quarter is located in downtown Winston-Salem, N.C., on the eastern seaboard of the United States – about halfway between Washington D.C. and Atlanta.
Winston-Salem is North Carolina’s fourth largest city, with an estimated population of 236,000 people. The city is located in Forsyth County, which has more than 360,000 residents. Forsyth County is part of a 12-county region in the heart of the state known as the Piedmont Triad.
The city is served by a number of major highways, including Interstate 40, Interstate 85, Interstate 77 and the future Interstate 74 and Interstate 73. The future Interstate 74 will run north-south through the city, following the current route of U.S. Highway 52. Interstate 40 and Business 40 run east-west through Winston-Salem.
Winston-Salem is 20 minutes by car from the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro. The area is served by 68 daily flights, with non-stop service to 16 major cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, New York and Washington D.C.
The Innovation Quarter’s downtown location makes it easily accessible from Interstate 40, Business 40 and U.S. 52.
Interstate 40 East
After Clemmons, exit left on Business 40, Exit 188 and follow Business 40 for approximately nine miles. Take Exit 5D, Old Salem, and veer left onto Main Street. Follow Main Street and follow north several blocks, turning right onto Sixth Street. The visitor parking lot for Wake Forest Biotech Place will be on your right, 270 E. Sixth St., directly across the street from the building.
Interstate 40 West
At the Interstate 40/Business 40 split in Greensboro, keep right and follow Business 40 for approximately 15 miles. Entering Winston-Salem, take Exit 5D, Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street and follow north several blocks before turning right onto Sixth Street. The visitor parking lot for Wake Forest Biotech Place will be on your right, 270 E. Sixth St., directly across the street from the building.
