Design with Nature Camp with Gateway Nature Preserve and Mixxer (9-12 graders)

Get outside in the Gateway Nature Preserve (GNP) and develop new design + build skills during this week-long camp. Learn about local and global ecology, mapping, and nature. Collaborate with GNP leadership, local landscape architects, urban planners, and graphic designers as we test prototypes that welcome visitors and connect neighbors to the outdoors. Experiment with art, natural materials, digital media, power tools, and interactive elements.

This year Mixxer is dedicated to offering Equitable Access to STEAM Experiences for students. Put simply, the term “Equitable Access” refers to the notion that every student should have the same opportunity as any other student for being taught by a great teacher in a great program. Our Equitable Access Initiative provides each student with lunch every day of camp, all supplies needed, and low-cost tuition.
