Innovation in Cinema – The Matrix

04/17/2014 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Innovation and Cinema is a brand new film and speaker series presented by Wake Forest Innovation Quarter and A/perture cinema which connects the silver screen to real-life technological, scientific, and medical innovations happening right here in Winston-Salem.

This annual film series will explore the relationships between innovation and the world in which we live. Industry professionals, paired with a variety of films, will engage the audiences in a lively, pre-film talk which sheds light on their obscure connections.

These screenings will be held at A/perture Cinema and are free to the community.

Seating is limited for this series, so you must RESERVE, PRINT and BRING your tickets using the links below for each screening in order to attend!

April 17th @ 7:30 PM
Location: A/perture Cinema
Guest host: Nickolay Hristov, Ph.D./ Center for Design Innovation

Topic: Motion Capture – from film technology to millions of bats and the science of movement.
At the edge of scientific inquiry we often learn from the most unlikely opportunities.  Motion Capture – the technology that wowed audiences with the original release of THE MATRIX in 1999 is now leading the way in understanding crowd dynamics and the development of a new generation of micro air vehicles inspired by biological flight.
