Life at the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company
05/03/2016 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Experience what factory life was like in the R. J. Reynolds historic tobacco district. The first in a four-part series, this free community event in the atrium of Wake Forest Biotech Place links the past to the present through storytelling and a sensory-driven exhibit.
Howell Smith, PhD, professor emeritus at Wake Forest University, will discuss the early history of factory life in the tobacco district, now home to Wake Forest Innovation Quarter.
Other activities include a post-lecture reception and a “Making Sense of the Factory” exhibit, featuring historic photos, quotes and sensory stations, which explore life at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
This event is sponsored by Wake Forest Innovation Quarter in partnership with the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, Triad Cultural Arts, Inc., and the New Winston Museum.
