Takeover Night at Venture Café: Convergence
July 18 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Downtown Winston-Salem has more intersections than maps will ever reveal. Meet entrepreneurs, institutions and businesses that bond over their shared passions and proximity and explore the role of convergence as the Innovation Quarter takes over the programming for this unique Venture Café Winston-Salem Thursday Night Gathering. Join us at 5 pm for Connections. Programming begins at 6 pm.
6 – 7 pm Sessions:
The Future of Clinical Trials
The end goal was clear from the start when Javara and Wake Forest School of Medicine began their collaboration: Make clinical research more accessible for providers and patients. Today, Javara, an integrated research organization working to revolutionize access to clinical trials, and Wake Forest School of Medicine have pilot trials underway and many plans for the future. Meet the leaders of these innovative organizations who are working together to provide more options for participants within the continuum of care.
The Science of Winston-Salem
A joint venture between community-based arts, sciences and educational organizations, The Science of Winston-Salem fills curious minds with knowledge and ignites their sense of discovery, creating deeper connections to the world around them.
Hear from founding partners from Wake Downtown, Kaleideum, The Olio, the science of LLC and Wake Forest Baptist Health on the efforts underway to uncover the science all around us in our community.
7– 8 pm Sessions:
A Holistic Approach to Wellness
WellQ, a partnership between Allegacy Federal Credit Union and Wake Forest Baptist Health, builds greater well-being by supporting an integrated approach to physical and financial health. Panelists will share how this kind of comprehensive coaching benefits the whole person.
Entrepreneurial Block Party
Convergence happens organically on a block of downtown adjacent to Krankies. Here, at the intersection of E. 3rd St. and N. Patterson Ave., a bodega, an ice cream shop, an Airbnb art hotel, a cocktail bar, a bike shop and a hair salon seem to reap the creative returns of their collaborative investments. Find out why these business owners picked this pocket of Winston-Salem to launch and how small-business convergence can go a long way in building community.
