WFI Lunch & Learn – Funding Commercialization
03/11/2014 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join us next Tuesday, March 11th from 12-1PM in the Wake Forest Biotech Place auditorium for Funding Commercialization – Focused Research & Technology Development presented by John Ujavari, Program Specialist at the North Carolina Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC).
Each year, the federal government spends more than $2 billion through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs. These programs support research and development via contracts or grants with small businesses, often in partnership with universities or other for-profit or not-for-profit entities. Together the programs represent perhaps the largest single source of early stage, non-dilutive funding for small businesses in the US.
Register today to learn how the programs are implemented within the federal government, with particular focus on the National Institutes of Health (NIH). We’ll also take a deep dive into the differences between SBIR and STTR.
There is no charge to attend.
