Join the Center for Creative Economy on Thursday, September 26, for the 2019 Velocity Creative Accelerator’s DEMO NIGHT.

Come meet 10 teams of diverse businesses that have completed an intensive 9-week accelerator designed for creative entrepreneurs. Teams will be in Winston-Salem to compete to split $50,000 in seed stage funding offered equity free from the Center for Creative Economy.

These teams are from Winston-Salem, Raleigh, San Francisco, Columbia (MO), Lovettsville (VA), New Delhi (India), and Mexico City (Mexico).

They focus on 3D printing, augmented reality, creative health tech, photography, gaming, culinary, fitness, and platforms for creatives.

At the event, you can explore the demo tables and hear each team’s pitch. This is your chance to discover the next big thing in creative entrepreneurship.

DEMO NIGHT is presented in collaboration with Wake Forest Innovation Quarter and Venture Cafe Winston-Salem!

A free educational seminar to coincide with September’s Prostate Cancer Awareness month.

Prostate cancer is extremely common in men as they age. Fortunately, in many cases, it can be either safely observed or treated with an excellent chance of cure. Plan to join board-certified urologist Dr. Ryan Terlecki who directs Wake Forest Men’s Health for this free event to highlight this condition and related issues involving urinary control and sexual function after cancer therapy. Spouses and partners are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Special guest actor and voice artist Geno Segers will conduct a motivational youth session at the festival at 2 pm. Segers played the role of Mufasa in Disney’s Australian stage production of The Lion King. He is best known for the role “Chayton Littlestone” in Cinemax’s Banshee.

The event is free and open to the public. Inside exhibits and performances at Biotech Place end at 5 pm. Outside exhibits and performances at Bailey Park will end at 8 pm. Free Parking in the Church/4th Street Parking deck.
