VariesThe biggest party on two wheels! Gears and Guitars is back in 2023 for it’s tenth year! One of the country’s most prestigious cycling events combined with live music for a weekend of exciting racing, local riding and a full weekend of FREE live music from big name bands.
Friday, August 4th: Streets of Fire presented by Audi Winston-Salem
7-9 p.m. Join us as we light up the night along 4th street in downtown Winston-Salem for dragrace-style street sprints! The night will feature both professional and amateur categories in a competitively charged atmosphere along restaurant row.
7-10 p.m. We’ll have free live music all evening and dancing in the streets once the racing concludes! Performances by Cracker and Nine Days.
Saturday, August 5th: Fondos, Criterium Racing and Live Music at Bailey Park
It’s a full day of cycling fun! Our Fondos will depart from Bailey Park in the morning. Pick from two road distances and two greenway / gravel distances. The racing will heat up all afternoon with the famed WS Cycling Classic men’s and women’s races capping off the action. We’ll have food trucks and a beer garden (for adults 21+) all afternoon.
6-11 p.m. Make sure to stick around for the FREE concert into the night! Performances by Soul Asylum and Dishwalla.
Sunday, August 6th: Gears & Guitars Afterparty
12- 4 p.m. Join us in the Coalpit at Bailey Park for more free live local music on Sunday. Grab a cold beer from our friends at Incendiary, relax and celebrate! This year’s local lineup is super strong with performances from Wafer Thin, The Hollirockets and Dead Drag Moon.
