Enjoy the rich, cultural traditions of the African American community at the twelfth Annual Juneteenth Festival. A national celebration of freedom, the festival features a musical tribute to Gospel singers Andraé Crouch, Daryl Coley and other music legends. The festival also offers:
- Music and dance performances, including Jazz, R&B, Gospel, African dance and spoken word
- Interactive heritage displays, exhibitors, arts and crafts, youth performances, Meet-the Author sessions and merchandise vendors
- Marketplace with ethnic products and foods
- Youth area with face painting and crafts
Festival highlights include a health fair with cooking demonstrations, exercise classes, the WSSU Mobile Health Unit and one-on-one “Ask-the-Doctor” sessions. The Point, a mobile financial stability unit, will also be on-site to provide financial education and free credit checks.
Food vendors and music will be located in Bailey Bark. All other activities will take place in the atrium of Wake Forest Biotech Place.
