Pop-up and Drive-in for Back to the Future

a/perture cinema is excited to present their first drive-in experience on June 5 (rain date June 6) with BACK TO THE FUTURE. THey have been working diligently over the past several weeks to figure out the logistics and are lucky to have found amazing partners at First Presbyterian Church (W-S) so that the drive-in can be located right in the heart of our beloved Downtown Winston-Salem and only a few blocks away from a/perture. Most importantly, they have designed the drive in to be a socially distanced experience and taken great care in our planning and precautions with extra spacing for cars. Sound will be broadcast through an FM channel on your vehicle’s radio or portable device so that you can remain inside your vehicle at all times. Fader RE is sponsoring this event and special thanks to Downtown Winston-Salem and WTOB 980AM & 96.3 FM Radio AV Connections.
The details:
Location: First Presbyterian Parking Lot off of 2nd Street between Cherry and Marshall Streets. Single entrance will be on the Cherry Street Side.
Date: Friday, June 5 with a rain date of Saturday, June 6. We will monitor the weather and communicate any changes in advance to all ticket holders.
Time: Parking lot opens at 7:30pm, film will begin at dark. Please plan to arrive no later than 8:30 so as not to disrupt screening for others.
Price: $30 per vehicle, $75 for reserved front section space (limited to 10). Each vehicle will receive a bag of popcorn and other treats upon entry.
Food Options: Dinner can be pre-ordered from Young Cardinal Cafe & Co. and delivered to your car once parked. Please see menu via the ticket link and call YCC to place your order and arrange details.
Restrooms: for safety reasons, there will be no portable restrooms available directly on-site so please plan accordingly. The restrooms at a/perture cinema (two blocks away) will be available for any emergencies and we are working on a possible closer location.
Note on vehicles: a/perture reserves the right to park extra tall vehicles (large suvs, trucks and mini-vans) in spots that will help preserve the best possible sightlines for all vehicles. We encourage you to stay in your vehicle, should you arrive in a pickup truck and plan to sit in the rear we will park you in the last row where we have built-in extra spacing.
All staff and volunteers will be wearing masks for your safety!
