Academic Medical Education

simulating treatment in front of students

“Educating tomorrow’s health care leaders starts with our educational philosophy and comes to fruition through our teaching environment.”

Balancing science with compassion, The Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education aims to facilitate collaborative learning and professional development in relevant, real-world contexts. This is accomplished through simulation experiences in the Center for Experimental and Applied Learning (CEAL), professional learning communities and integration of leading-edge medical education skills and techniques. MD and PA students obtain in-depth, valuable clinical experience through the fast-paced environment of a learning health system. By participating in centers and translational catalysts, students in the MS and Ph.D programs gain an interdisciplinary perspective and access to clinical environments.
