Innovation Quarter name change reflects putting community projects to forefront of future development

Wake Forest University passed a symbolic economic-development baton last Thursday when it announced that it has removed its name from the Innovation Quarter. However, just as the institution showed its support when it helped found the Innovation Quarter about 25 years ago, both groups stress that the name change does not reduce their financial and infrastructure commitment. This transition is just one part of a three-prong branding and outreach initiative meant to encourage the community to more fully embrace the Innovation Quarter’s new marketing pitch: live, work, learn, play.
