Just a few years ago, Bailey Park was an amalgam of buildings and surface lots. Today, it’s one of the most popular recreation spots in downtown Winston-Salem. Claire Calvin, the entrepreneur behind local restaurants The Porch Kitchen and Cantina, Alma Mexicana, and the Canteen Market and Bistro, is one of Winston-Salem’s leading voices on entrepreneurship. But Calvin didn’t begin her career as an entrepreneur. In fact, she started her career in international litigation at a New York City law firm.
